Ultra 9000 Advance
Meta-Bookmark System

u9k News:
Version 0.1 relesed.
New Design, woo!
Overview

The u9k lets you store bookmarks to your favorite sites on its server, and have them available wherever you are. Set it up as the homepage in your browser at home, and at work.

The next release, 0.2 will allow you to add multiple boxes of links to your homepage, including links maintained by other u9k users, so you can share your knowledge with other u9k users and vice versa.

By 0.3 we will fully flush out the portal aspects of the u9k. Allowing you to embed headlines and infomation form other popular sites (like cnn.com, slashdot.org etc) on your u9k homepage. The coolest feature will be autogenerated u9k boxes, compiled from statistical analysis the u9k itself, making the u9k an automatic weblog of sorts.

News
04.21.03 - thats right, the next in the blazingly fast series of 0.1.x releases is here: 0.1.2 ... just 18 months since the last release. talk about speed. just some minor bug fixes to hold over until the utterly rewritten from sCratch 0.2 is done. woo.

What's New:

- You can now show just the top few links on your homepage. Stick a ?top=30 at the end of the url to show just the top most 30 links. for example:

http://eds.org/servlet/Ultra?top=40

pretty nice if your links page is as long as mine and you're sick of how long it takes to render.

- it no longer shows your password on the url bar, and hence your browser history, when you login. yay.

- there are two new themes (invert and mono) designed by jon aka phossie. if you have themes ideas, go ahead and take a screenshot of the u9k (hit the print screen button on your keyboard, then run your image editor and paste the screenshot into the new image) and change the colors as you'd like, and send it to me.

10.08.01 -

Version 0.1.1 is the first incremental update to 0.1 since I found the v0.1 source code that I thought i had lost forever. There might be a 0.1.2, or I might just jump to 0.2 if 0.1.1 seems stable enough for now. 0.1.1 should be a little more user friendly and stable now.

What's New:

- Themes! Right now there are 9 themes available, I will gladly consider any themes you send to me. In the future you will be able to completely customize the layout of the u9k to an alarming degree through the magic of css :)

- If you click on someone elses link, it no longer rudely adds it to your list with their count. Finally!

- Editable url preferences! Click on the little notepad-looking icon next to the link and you can change it's attributes.

- Shortcuts! Give a url a shortcut and you can just type that shortcut in the enter field on the u9k to jump to your most common webpages... once you try this out, you won't be able to go back.

- Editable Titles! No more staring at ugly, long url's. Amazing!

- Smaller html. I removed unnessesary whitespace from the generated html, which actually shaved off about %25 of the size, meaning it is that much faster to download. I can do even better by shortening urlsand function names, which is planned for 0.2 along with some optimization of the nested tables for faster rendering.

4.30.01 -

I have released v0.1 ... yay. This means that it should be reasonably stable now and i promise that you won't loose your boomarks again as I have instated a backup routine. So please pound away at it and give us some feedback.

The u9k has been redesigned, but this is not the final design. It's just a slightly more pleasing on the eyes intermediary design until we have time to finish the Ultra-Cool real design.

4.22.01 - Gilko sent me a cool bookmarklet. Basically, it lets you add the page you are currently viewing to your Ultra Bookmarks. You can use it by adding the below link to your bookmarks (right click it and select "Add Boomark"). Then, whenever you find a cool website you'd like to add to your Ultra Bookmarks, just select "Add this page to my Ultra bookmarks" bookmarklet from your browsers bookmark menu

Right click on the following link:
